Sue Donaldson (aka Susan Cliffe) is an independent researcher and author. She was born in Ottawa in 1962, and has lived most of her life in Eastern Ontario. She studied at Queen’s (B.A. Hon), University of Toronto (B. Ed) and Carleton University (M.A.). She lives in Kingston, Canada where she writes essays, plays, and books, including a vegan recipe collection (Foods That Don't Bite Back) and a mystery novel for young adults (Thread of Deceit).  She co-authored (with Will Kymlicka) Zoopolis: A Politial Theory of Animal Rights which was awarded the 2013 Biennial Book Prize from the Canadian Philosophical Association. 

 

Will Kymlicka is the Canada Research Chair in Political Philosophy in the Philosophy Department at Queen's University in Kingston, Canada, where he has taught since 1998. His research interests focus on issues of democracy and diversity, and in particular on models of citizenship and social justice within multicultural societies. He has published eight books and over 200 articles, which have been translated into 32 languages, and has received several awards, most recently, the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.   He is married to the author Sue Donaldson, with whom he has recently co-authored Zoopolis: A Political Theory of Animal Rights (Oxford UP, 2011), which was awarded the 2013 Biennial Book Prize from the Canadian Philosophical Association.
